Course Description -
Industrial Technology 7 is an introductory course that works with the basic concepts in drafting. These being: drafting terminology, lettering, freehand sketching, dimensioning, Orthographic projection, and isometric drawing. After written competency is attained in the drafting part of the course there will be a basic safety unity dealing with mostly hand tools, and a few basic power tools. After the student masters safety and passes his/her safety test, a woodworking project will be assigned.

Be Prompt:
Entering the Classroom: Students will enter the classroom prepared to begin the warm-up problems/activity. The students should come to class with their (list specific materials). Students should be in their seat when the bell rings and ready to begin class without being prompted to do so. The warm-up activity will be posted on the front board.
Ending Class: Students are expected to stay in their seats until they are dismissed by the teacher, not the bell.

1:1 Device Management Plan
As a member of a 1:1 program, it is your responsibility to bring your device to class each day charged and ready for use. Failure to do so will result in your being sent to the Media Center to receive a violation. If your device is in need of charging it will be kept and charged for the remainder of the class hour or until it reaches 50%. It is your responsibility to pick it up between classes. Loaner devices are available only for devices that are in for repair

Exams and Quizzes -
There will be exams/quizzes pertaining to the topics we discuss and work with in class. Points are not weighted in this class, and your grade will be determined by a collaboration of lab and exam points.

Course Objectives -
- Understand and use the vocabulary of drafting.
- Understand and be able to estimate proportions for assigned sketches.
- Demonstrate competency in the art of freehand sketching in assigned sketches.
- Demonstrate competency in the art of lettering and dimensioning in assigned drawings.
- Demonstrate competency in the skill of isometric drawing.
- Understand the different shop processes that are used in the manufacturing of parts from drafting plans.
- Understand and demonstrate the safe operation of tools in the woodworking lab.
- Understand the importance of safe conduct in the woodworking lab.
Class Procedures -
- Students will be expected to bring a pencil, paper, and folder to every class session.
- Students will be expected to follow all class rules.
- Students will be expected to conduct themselves in a safe and orderly manner during class and lab time.
- Students will treat others with respect and dignity.
- Students will be expected to use thier class and lab time productively.
- Students will be expected to be responsible for getting their assignnments turned in on time, and pick up their own make up work.
- Students are expected to be responsible for thier own grade.

- Chromebooks must remain under your desk unless you are instructed to take them out.
- Chromebooks must be flat on your desk when in use.
- Chromebooks are only to be used for (your class) related activities (no emailing, messaging, or checking grades unless instructed to do so).
- Teachers have the right to look through your Chromebook.
- If you are using the Chromebook inappropriately, you will be given one warning. If the behavior continues, it will be taken away.

- When the teacher (include your attention getter) you need to stop and give your full attention.

- Adjust your voice level to suit the activity.
- Follow directions the first time they are given.
- Observe all rules in the student handbook.
If You Choose to not be Considerate
- First time: Non verbal (the look)
- Second time: Walk and stand by (let the student know you are there)
- Third time: Coupling Statement (“Right now you’re blurting, a better choice would be to raise your hand.”)
- Fourth time: Refocus Form in the Classroom
- Fifth time: Refocus Form in Room 226/Options Room
- Sixth time: Removal to the office
